Non-Contact Tank Liquid Level Sensors
Non-contact tank level sensors do not make direct touch with the fluid in the tank. They are commonly employed to assess fluid levels in tanks that are difficult to reach, dangerous, or contain corrosive or abrasive materials. Non-contact tank level sensors include the following:
Ultrasonic level sensor: These sensors measure the distance from the fluid’s surface using ultrasonic sound waves. The sensor sends out a sound wave that goes to the fluid’s surface and is reflected back to the sensor. The sensor then calculates the amount of fluid in the tank by measuring the time it takes for the sound wave to travel to and from the fluid’s surface. Ultrasonic sensors can be used to measure the level of liquids and solids in a variety of industrial applications.
Laser level sensor: These sensors assess the level of fluids in tanks using laser technology. The sensor emits a laser beam, which is reflected off the fluid’s surface and back to the sensor. The sensor then calculates the amount of fluid in the tank by measuring the time it takes the laser beam to travel to and from the fluid’s surface. Laser level sensors can be used to measure the level of liquids and solids in a variety of industrial applications, including hostile environments.
Radar level sensor: These sensors employ radar technology to determine the distance from the fluid’s surface. The sensor emits a radar signal, which bounces off the fluid’s surface and returns to the sensor. The sensor then calculates the level of fluid in the tank by measuring the time it takes for the radar signal to travel to and from the fluid’s surface. Radar level sensors can be used to measure the level of liquids and certain solids in a variety of industrial applications, including hostile environments.
Optical level sensor: These sensors measure the distance to the surface using light-based technology.
