Best Level Sensors for Acid Tanks

Optic Level Sensors: These sensors utilize infrared light beams or laser beams to measure the level of the acid. The sensor sends a beam of light through the acid, which is reflected back by the surface of the acid. The time it takes for the light to travel to and from the surface is used to calculate the level of the acid. Optic level sensors are well-suited for acid tanks because they are not in contact with the acid, which reduces the risk of corrosion, and they can provide accurate and reliable level measurements even in the presence of steam or other gases.

When choosing a level sensor for an acid tank, it is important to consider the specific properties of the acid, such as its pH level, concentration, and temperature range, as well as the requirements of the application, such as the required level of accuracy and the operating environment.

It’s worth noting that all these level sensors have some sort of limitations. For example, ultrasonic sensors may not work well with heavily agitated liquids, conductivity sensors may not be able to distinguish between acid and other liquids, and electromagnetic level sensors may be affected by the presence of metal in the tank. It is important to test the sensor with a sample of the acid and in the tank environment to make sure it will work as expected.
